Once upon a time!

I'm in the kitchen cooking dinner and David walks in and asks " I need a book to read!?!" all I had around me was US weekly magazine so I gave it to him. He sat down on the rug and began to read/say, "Once upon a time....the End! Good book Mommy!" He's such a cutie!

Jeremy's Initial Drill

(January 18, 2010)
As you know Jeremy is a Drill Instructor for the United States Marine Crops. The Initial Drill Evaluation tests each platoon’s ability to listen to the orders of its Drill Instructor at this point in training, and is a demonstration of the unit’s degree of discipline and esprit de corps. Drill is used as one of the first methods of transforming these recruits from civilians into Marines, and plays a large part on their development of teamwork and unit cohesion.

The object of close order drill is to teach Marines by exercise to obey orders and to do so immediately in the correct way. Close order drill is one foundation of discipline and esprit de corps. Additionally, it is still one of the finest methods for developing confidence and troop leading abilities in our subordinate leaders.

As a new Drill Instructor, Jeremy took charge of his platoon of 75 recruits and lead them through initial drill. The drill instructor and the recruits are both graded. How well the recruits listen to orders and how well Jeremy gives them orders...ha! He loves that.
Here Jeremy is waiting to begin and tell his recruits to "Fall In"
The Platoon

Monday Jeremy is being promoted to Gunnery Sergeant. David and I will get to pin on his new chevrons.
We are so proud of you Daddy. You are an amazing marine and we love you so much! Semper Fidelis! (Always faithful)
